Padmalīlā (पद्मलीला)

Padmalīlā means “the play of the lotus.” Inspired by the devotional Pichwai tradition, this series engages with fragmentation and rearrangement through low-resolution pixel manipulation. Individual motifs such as arches, leaves, and lotuses are extracted and reconfigured to explore spatial rhythm. In Pichwai, the lotus embodies purity and devotion, forming a sacred setting for the divine. Here, the lotus dissolves and reappears through shifting pixels, transforming spiritual ornamentation into a study of presence, loss, and reassembly.
